Saint-Pierre

The owner of an apartment at 455 rue Saint-Pierre is a long-standing customer. Like the studio, he's free of constraints and conventions. At the start of the 2000s, the space was suffering the repercussions of unfortunate renovations, obstructions, incongruous angles, a dysfunctional kitchen and a long, black, light-absorbing wall. The cure will be openness and sustainable design.

Atypical, difficult space makes Melk Coffee Bar project a real design-thinking challenge, a balancing act between necessity and aesthetics.

Sarto Series

Salon is the first piece in Sarto, a series of functional, mutable seating. The concept was first developed a few years ago, at a time when the studio had neither the time, the resources nor the right partners to produce it. The series takes its name from the source that inspired modernist architect Mies Van der Roe’s famous dictum that “less is more.” The phrase comes from the 1855 poem “Andrea De Sarto “by Robert Browning. It succinctly describes the thinking behind the series.
