Let there be light
The principal objective of reconfiguring the second floor of this duplex was more light. To begin with, a brick wall was opened. This not only let in more sunshine but increased the sense of space by combining the kitchen and living room, and a full bathroom with a large skylight was constructed. Some key accents complete the package--made-to-measure kitchen furniture, a powder-coated steel backsplash, and a built-in wine cellar in the dining room help prove that, as is often the case, details make the difference.
